The Northeast Document Conservation Center has announced its latest Preservation Training Workshops and Webinars for January-June 2011. In response to staff shortages and dwindling travel budgets, the roster includes an expanded offering of webinars.

The webinars are two hours long and begin at 2pm Eastern US time. In-person workshops are full-day programs and generally are held at NEDCC in Andover, Mass. Discounts are offered for early registration.

The Center’s popular “Care and Handling of” workships include: Collections Security (December 15 2010, $95); Care and Handling of Multimedia Collections (March 23 2011, $95 – care of audio tapes, video tapes, motion-picture film, optical discs); Mold Outbreaks and How to Cope with Them (April 6 2011, $95 – types of mold and their propagation, control and prevention methods); Writing Your NEH Preservation Assistance Grant (April 14 2011, $95); Metadata Basics (May 11 2011, $150), and others.
