Paul Rotha: Filmmaker, Author, Producer
The Institute of Communications Studies at the University of Leeds is organising a three-day conference from September 8-10 2011 on the career of Paul Rotha in the light of the last two decades of research into non-fiction cinema and British film culture.
Rotha (1907–1984) was a British documentary film-maker, film historian, and critic whose documentaries The World is Rich (1947) and Cradle of Genius (1961), were nominated for Academy Awards.
