Digital Archives Professor with a Difference

San Jose State University’s School of Library & Information Science is seeking an assistant professor of library and information science with an unusual condition: The successful applicant will teach online and be able to work from wherever he or she likes.

The successful candidate will teach, develop courses, and conduct research in any of several emerging technology areas: digital archives, digital preservation, data curation, new media, digital futures, virtual services. San Jose’s library school has been delivering baccalaureate courses as well as a masters degree in archives and records administration online since Fall 2009 and a gateway PhD program with Queensland University of Technology.

The position’s requirements include an earned doctorate and a strong record of scholarly and professional achievement. If candidates do not hold an MLIS, their doctorate must be in library and information science or an allied field.
