Concern about Hungarian Communist-era Archives

A militant during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, one of many historical events that led to increased surveillance and record keeping by the country's Soviet-backed regime.

MIAN reports today on protests by archivists and historians in response to a Hungarian government plan to destroy records kept by the country’s Communist-era security apparatus.
